Welcome to Studio 102 Artist Studios
We love to share how our art comes alive — because that’s where the soul of our work truly lives.
Each creation begins as a careful blend of resin polymers and a custom concrete mix, formulated with lightweight aggregates so the art can hang effortlessly on a wall. We experiment with ratios of cementitious material, fine sand, and admixtures to strike the right balance of strength, texture, and weight. Once poured, the pieces are set aside to cure slowly — a process that takes nearly 20–25 days. This stage is where patience is everything; concrete, like people, can’t be rushed into becoming its strongest self.
Once cured, we begin the most thoughtful part of the process: color. We test pigments, do patch trials, and sit with palettes until they feel right — until the piece tells us what it wants to become. Painting isn’t just about covering the surface, it’s about creating depth, character, and resilience. After the final coats, we allow another 10–15 days for the colors to settle and bond fully.
Altogether, one piece can take anywhere from 45 to 60 days from start to finish. Every layer, every pause, every step is intentional. Concrete may sound industrial, but in our hands, it’s deeply personal — an alchemy of material science and heart. The patience, curing, and chemistry make it strong; the care, love, and thought make it art.
